Avianca miles typically cost around 3.23 USD cents per mile and can be purchased permanently in multiples of 1,000 miles. However, buying at this price is rarely worthwhile. Nevertheless, Avianca LifeMiles offers promotions with bonuses ranging from 120% to 170% several times a year. In the ideal scenario, a mile costs around 1.1 EUR cent.

During the current promotion, you have the opportunity to receive a bonus of up to 160%. This current offer thus falls within the upper range of these promotions. Unlike the previous promotion, the bonus is tiered. You receive the 160% bonus when purchasing 41,000 miles or more.

Is purchasing Avianca miles worthwhile?

Avianca LifeMiles miles can indeed yield a value of several cents when redeemed for Business and First Class flights. Note that Lufthansa First Class flights can be booked via LifeMiles, but this is only valid for the next two weeks. Therefore, a Lufthansa First Class flight must be taken relatively spontaneously. Further in advance, you can only book LH First Class through Miles & More. LifeMiles+Money

Those who want to use LifeMiles should familiarize themselves with the LifeMiles+Money feature beforehand. This feature allows you to purchase additional miles directly during the redemption flight booking. Up to 60% of the miles can be purchased. So, it makes sense to buy only about half of the required miles during a promotion. This limits the risk of being left with a large pile of unused miles somewhat. The miles purchased via LifeMiles+Money are also only slightly more expensive. The price is approximately 1.50 USD cents per mile. They are cheapest when you buy exactly 50% of the miles. More about this in the following article: LifeMiles+Money – Permanently buy LifeMiles cheaply.

Purchasing LifeMiles – What else to consider?

Each participant can purchase a maximum of 200,000 miles per calendar year. Bonus miles received additionally do not count towards this maximum. There is no restriction on the number of transactions, as long as the maximum purchase amount is not exceeded.
