Grand Opening: St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat, Oman
St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat
The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat opened on June 1, 2024, marking the debut of the St. Regis brand in Oman.
Muscat offers numerous midscale hotels, but luxury options are limited. The Ritz-Carlton Al Bustan Palace, although notable, is somewhat outdated, making the new St. Regis a modern alternative. Located in the Al Mouj development near Muscat International Airport (MCT), it is conveniently situated for travelers with extended transits.

The resort boasts 250 accommodations, including guest rooms and suites. Guests can enjoy various features and amenities:
The St. Regis Muscat spans 360 meters of beachfront and is next to a golf course, providing scenic views.
The resort includes nine signature dining establishments, such as Roberto’s (Italian), Hakkasan (Chinese), Novikov (Pan-Asian), Em Sherif (Mediterranean), and more.
Amenities include a Guerlain Spa with 11 treatment rooms, swimming pools, and a fitness center.
Below are some renderings from Marriott’s website, primarily showcasing rooms and dining concepts, with fewer images of the property’s exterior and pools.

Regarding rates and points availability, the cost of a stay at the St. Regis Muscat varies seasonally. Current rates start at 125 OMR ($325) per night in the low season (summer) and around 167 OMR ($435) per night in the peak season.
Despite the hotel being open, standard room award redemptions are not yet available. I value Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.7 cents each and will monitor redemption rates as they become available.
In summary, the St. Regis Muscat is a valuable addition to Muscat's hotel offerings. This beachfront property, close to Muscat Airport, provides a variety of leisure options typical of Gulf properties. I am eager to visit and anticipate many others will be too, especially with Oman Air potentially joining oneworld later this year.
