Situated on the southern tip of Bali’s Uluwatu peninsula, Alila Villas commands breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. The hotel is slightly secluded but strategically located to offer guests unparalleled vistas. The Villa Experience

The highlight of our stay was the expansive three-bedroom villa, encompassing 3,000 square meters, including outdoor spaces. It feels more like a private estate than a standard hotel suite. Upon entering, guests are welcomed by their own carport and private lobby area. The villa’s interior boasts minimalistic design with a bright, airy palette of whites and beiges, complemented by rich, dark wood accents. The open layout emphasizes natural light, with views that stretch to the ocean.

Each of the three bedrooms offers a unique touch. The two guest bedrooms are well-appointed, featuring comfortable seating areas, TVs, and a cozy ambiance. The master suite, however, steals the show with a spacious walk-in closet and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the view of the pool and ocean. The master bathroom includes both indoor and outdoor rain showers and an elegant bathtub, perfect for an indulgent evening soak.

The villa’s shared spaces include both indoor and outdoor kitchens fully equipped with high-end appliances, making it suitable for guests who wish to prepare their own meals or bring in a private chef. The main living area features floor-to-ceiling glass doors, ensuring panoramic views and plenty of natural light. It includes a large dining table and a welcoming lounge area with plush seating and a TV. The outdoor space boasts a private pool surrounded by a wooden deck, sun loungers, and a serene garden, offering the ultimate private retreat.

Resort Amenities

Dining at Alila Villas Uluwatu is a highlight, starting with the main restaurant, CIRE. Completely open-air, it provides stunning views and serves a menu that leans towards Italian influences. Breakfast here is a standout experience, with freshly baked pastries that rival the best in Paris. For those who prefer privacy, room service is available and offers a similarly impressive menu.

Guests can also enjoy Indonesian cuisine at the resort’s second restaurant, Warung, either in person or through villa delivery. The main pool, separate from the private villa pools, features an infinity edge that overlooks the ocean, creating a perfect spot for relaxation and social media-worthy photos. The resort provides thoughtful details like a basket containing water, sunscreen, and anti-mosquito spray to enhance guests’ comfort.

Fitness enthusiasts can take advantage of the modern gym, which is surrounded by greenery and offers a peaceful atmosphere for workouts. There is also a library on-site, complete with comfortable seating, books, and a computer station for those who need to stay connected.

Notable Highlights

The service at Alila Villas Uluwatu sets it apart. A personal butler, in our case Abby, significantly enhanced our stay by attending to our needs, preparing refreshments, and ensuring the villa remained in pristine condition. Guests should also be aware of the local wildlife; during our stay, a curious monkey managed to sneak in and help itself to some fruit. While this added to the experience, it’s worth being mindful of securing food.

Conclusion

Alila Villas Uluwatu is undoubtedly a premium experience, priced at around $3,000 per night. It’s an exceptional choice for groups, families, or special occasions, offering both privacy and a sense of luxury that’s hard to match. The breathtaking views, impeccable design, and attentive service make it an unforgettable destination in Bali.
