Lufthansa opens new premium lounge at Newark International Airport (EWR)

Lufthansa Airlines has unveiled its new premium lounge in Terminal B at Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey. Spanning 600 square meters, the lounge provides guests with a comfortable space to relax or work before their flight.

The highlight of the lounge is the central Skyline Bar, where passengers can enjoy a wide selection of cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages, along with craft beer on tap from New Jersey, the “Garden State.” On the culinary side, Lufthansa Group offers guests a variety of fresh regional products in the bistro area. During the summer, the menu features cornbread from Jersey with candied tomato jam and sandwiches filled with trumpet mushrooms, bacon, crisp lettuce, and tomato chutney on sourdough bread.

First Class passengers and HON Circle members can indulge in an à la carte menu in a private dining area, with a selection of top-tier wines and champagne available.

A total investment of approximately 10 million Euros went into creating the new lounge.

Victoria Schuster, Vice President of Product & Customer Experience at Lufthansa Airlines, stated: “We are proud to present our guests in Newark with a new lounge that sets a new benchmark. It offers private travelers cozy spaces to relax and our business customers ample work areas. This lounge reflects our commitment to continually enhancing the experience for our guests, both on the ground and in the air. We continue to invest globally in our offerings, whether in New Jersey or elsewhere, to uphold Lufthansa's premium standards and, most importantly, those of our guests.”

The new lounge at Newark Liberty Airport accommodates around 170 guests, a 25 percent increase in capacity compared to the previous lounge. It is open to First and Business Class passengers of all Lufthansa Group airlines flying to Newark, as well as HON Circle members and Senators.

The lounge's multifunctional design caters to the diverse needs of travelers before their flight. One-third of the space is dedicated to business travelers, featuring functional communal tables with wireless charging and printing options.

The remaining space is designed for relaxation, offering comfortable seating arrangements for various group sizes, from individual seats for solo travelers to areas for couples or larger groups. Multifunctional rooms provide spaces for meetings, calls, or children’s play.
