Bangkok’s highest-end hotel to open this April: Aman Nai Lert Bangkok

The Aman Nai Lert Bangkok is now accepting reservations for stays beginning April 2, 2025. Initially announced in 2019 with a planned 2022 opening, the property faced delays but is now finally set to welcome guests.

This will be Aman’s second property in Thailand, following Phuket’s Amanpuri, which was the brand’s first-ever resort.

Setting and Setup

Aman Bangkok is set within the seven-acre, century-old tropical gardens of Nai Lert Park and will feature 52 accommodations, all of which are suites, in addition to private residences. The hotel is housed in a 36-story building, with guest rooms occupying floors 11 through 18, while the residences are situated on higher floors. The property’s interiors have been designed by Jean-Michel Gathy.

What’s particularly impressive is that all accommodations will be a minimum of 92 square meters (990 square feet), making it a true all-suite property with generously sized rooms.

In terms of amenities, the hotel will offer a 1,500-square-meter (16,150-square-foot) wellness area, featuring seven treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy area, a fitness center, and more. Additionally, there will be a 25-meter (82-foot) outdoor pool.

Dining options at Aman Bangkok will be diverse. Guests can enjoy Arva (an Italian restaurant open for lunch and dinner), Seusi (a sushi omakase experience open for dinner), Hiori (a 14-seat Japanese teppanyaki experience open for dinner), 1872 (a lounge and bar serving Western classics, Thai cuisine, and afternoon tea), and Aman Lounge (an all-day lounge serving light bites).

This will be Aman’s 36th property. While Aman has evolved over the years, the brand continues to be synonymous with luxury. Under founder Adrian Zecha, Aman was known for pioneering unique hospitality concepts, often opening hotels in remote and exclusive locations. The current ownership has shifted focus towards monetizing the Aman name, with an emphasis on selling residences, club memberships, and more. Rather than opening only secluded resorts, we are now seeing Aman properties in major cities like New York, Miami, Bangkok, and Los Cabos. Still, Aman remains a top-tier hotel brand.

Aman Bangkok rates & inclusions

Bangkok is known for being one of the best value luxury hotel markets in the world, with outstanding properties available at relatively reasonable prices compared to cities like London, Paris, and Tokyo. So how do Aman Bangkok’s rates compare?

Well, they are exceptionally high—far beyond anything else currently available in the city. While rates are dynamic and subject to change, the lowest current prices start at $1,200+ per night, with peak season rates reaching $2,000+ per night.

For those looking to book, we recommend doing so through a Virtuoso travel advisor, who can provide additional perks such as a property credit and possible room upgrades.

Stays at Aman Bangkok include flexible check-in, daily breakfast, a complimentary minibar (including alcohol), and daily cultural programming. Additionally, stays of two or more nights come with fast-track airport services and limousine transfers.

On one hand, we wonder if the hotel will be able to sustain these high rates. On the other hand, considering the generous suite sizes, the pricing is somewhat justifiable, as similar-sized suites at other top Bangkok hotels are in a comparable price range.

That being said, convincing guests to pay such high rates when these are merely entry-level prices—rather than the cost for an upgraded room—may be a challenge. Only time will tell. For reference, Capella Bangkok was recently ranked as the number one hotel on The World’s 50 Best Hotels list, and its rates start at about half the price, with entry-level rooms measuring 61 square meters.

The opening of Aman Bangkok also coincides with increased interest in Thailand as a travel destination. The upcoming season of The White Lotus was filmed in Thailand, which is likely to spark further interest in luxury travel to the region. While the show’s hotel partnership is with Four Seasons rather than Aman, the increased exposure could drive demand across the board.

Conclusion

Aman Nai Lert Bangkok is set to open in April 2025 and will likely redefine luxury hospitality in Bangkok. With 52 oversized suites, multiple dining venues, an expansive wellness area, and exclusive amenities, the hotel aims to set a new benchmark for high-end accommodations in the city.

The rates are exceptionally high, which aligns with Aman’s reputation and the sheer size of the suites. While we are uncertain whether the property can maintain these prices in the long run, it will be interesting to see how it fares in Bangkok’s competitive luxury hotel market. Regardless, Aman Bangkok is shaping up to be an extraordinary addition to the city’s hospitality scene.
