Anantara was founded in 2001 with the opening of its first luxury hotel in the coastal town of Hua Hin, Thailand. Today, the portfolio includes over 50 properties worldwide, where they showcase their warm, Thai-inspired hospitality. Nestled in the Balinese jungle, Ubud is already home to several renowned luxury hotels, such as Capella Ubud Bali and Alila Ubud. The newest addition embraces Bali's rich cultural and artisanal heritage. We offer you an early glimpse.

85 Rooms in the Mountain Village of Payangan

The Indonesian island paradise is best known for its lush rainforests, small traditional villages, and terraced rice fields, often adorned with Hindu temples. Amidst this natural beauty, another luxury hotel is set to open. Starting October 1, the Anantara Ubud Bali Resort will welcome guests. The word exclusivity—which Anantara Hotels are famously known for—will be taken to new heights here. The resort will feature only 85 rooms and villas, with the latter including private pools. Nestled in the traditional mountain village of Payangan, this new luxury hotel is about an hour and a half drive from Bali Airport.

Bali's Natural Diversity

The design of the guest rooms and villas is inspired by the local culture and traditions. Culinary delights will be drawn from the region's seasonal abundance in one of the resort's restaurants and bars. The luxury resort will soon impress with its farm-to-table concept, including AMERTA, which offers traditional cuisine, and KIRANA, a breakfast restaurant. Refreshing cocktails with panoramic views of Mount Agung will be served in the Lobby Lounge or the SULANG Bar. For special, romantic moments, you can also book a private dinner, such as a secluded picnic by a waterfall.

Additional facilities at the new Anantara Hotel include two pools (one exclusively for adults and one for families), a modern fitness center, and a spa with multiple treatment rooms. Here, you can indulge in holistic Balinese wellness treatments in a spiritual setting inspired by the nearby Hindu temples. However, outside the resort, many exciting opportunities await. You can visit the nearby rice terraces, known as the Hanging Gardens, take a day trip to the Puri Saren Royal Palace, or relax on Bali's famous Seminyak Beach.
