Innovative Island Design Meets Tropical Luxury

Previously, W Hotels introduced a new rebranding concept with the renovated W Hollywood, characterized by vibrant colors, distinctive shapes, and meticulous attention to detail. The redesigned W Maldives mirrors this approach, incorporating the rich marine life and lush flora of the Maldives into its new aesthetic. Guests can now experience the transformation firsthand, arriving in style via seaplane.

Accommodations

The resort features 77 newly renovated beach and overwater villas that harmoniously blend with the breathtaking Maldivian landscape. The room designs are inspired by marine elements, with luxurious outdoor areas providing a seamless transition to nature. Soft colors and indirect lighting create a tranquil ambiance, exuding peace and relaxation. The overwater villas draw inspiration from majestic whale sharks, while the beach villas reflect the structures of mangroves. A standout feature of the renovation is the introduction of two new Oasis Two-Bedroom Beach Villas, each equipped with an exhilarating water slide connecting the second floor to a private pool.

Dining and Bars

In addition to private villas and public areas, the hotel’s restaurant and bar spaces have been redesigned. At FISH, the resort’s signature fine dining restaurant, guests can enjoy top-tier dishes featuring the freshest seafood through the new ocean-to-table concept. Other dining venues invite guests to savor grilled and fresh delicacies directly by the Indian Ocean, all within a modern and refined setting. Another highlight is the spa area, offering relaxation with stunning sea views.

Rates

Rates seem to start from around $1,093 per night, which is quite in line with what we see with other comparable properties on the Maldives.

Points rate start from around 241,500 points per night, yielding an average of below 0.5 cents per point. At this rate, we strongly advise you to only use your Marriott Bonvoy points if you have too many of them and want to churn through them. Otherwise, you are better suited with the cash rate!

Conclusion

The new ethos of the W Hotel brand encompasses more than just unique design. The hotel aligns with a forward-thinking and sustainable narrative. By eliminating plastic bottles, installing a biogas plant, and recycling food waste, W Hotels aims to reduce the resort’s environmental impact. With its reopening, W Maldives embarks on a new chapter of luxury and sustainability at the forefront of the hospitality industry.
