Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur to open in September 2025

We’re always excited to see Hyatt’s luxury portfolio expand, especially given the value of World of Hyatt Globalist status and the ability to redeem points. In the past, we’ve written about what might be one of the most exciting properties in the Hyatt pipeline—particularly for those of us who love hotels perched on exceptionally high floors.

Last week, the hotel opened for bookings starting in June 2025. However, the opening has now been delayed until September 2025, just days later. It’s worth noting how many hotels struggle to manage expectations around opening timelines effectively.

Basics of the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is currently accepting reservations for stays starting September 3, 2025. The hotel will be located in Kuala Lumpur’s new Merdeka 118 building, which isn’t just the tallest skyscraper in the city but also the tallest building in all of Asia-Pacific.

We’ve observed a trend where many hotels occupy lower floors of skyscrapers, but that’s not the case here. Instead, this property will span the top 17 floors of the 118-story building. Suffice it to say, this hotel isn’t for those with a fear of heights! The Park Hyatt is set to feature 232 accommodations, including 28 suites and 30 residential apartments.

That said, this hotel’s opening is significantly delayed. Initially slated for 2021, the project was postponed due to the pandemic and likely other factors. With the latest opening date pushed from June to September 2025, it’s prudent to be cautious about booking, as further delays are possible.

Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur Rates & Points Requirements

With reservations now open, what do rates look like? This is a Category 5 World of Hyatt property, requiring 17,000–23,000 points per night for a standard room and 29,000–35,000 points per night for a standard suite.

Cash rates currently start at approximately 1,400 MYR (around $315 USD) per night, excluding taxes and fees.

If booking a cash stay, we recommend using the Hyatt Privé program, which includes benefits like room upgrades, complimentary breakfast, and a hotel credit.

Given Kuala Lumpur’s reputation as a great value market for luxury hotels, the Park Hyatt is clearly positioning itself at the top end, with rates higher than most competitors. It will be interesting to see whether the property can sustain these prices, especially with over 200 rooms to fill.

Conclusion

The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is now accepting reservations and is set to open in September 2025. Situated on floors 102 through 118 of the Merdeka 118 building, the hotel combines Kuala Lumpur’s attractive luxury hotel pricing with a uniquely high-altitude experience. We can’t wait to visit!
