IHG is currently running a promotion which offers 40,000 bonus IHG points for every 4 nights you stay at participating Iberostar hotels (maximum of 80,000 bonus IHG points, so 2x4 nights).

Iberostar was recently added to the IHG brand collection. It is a brand that focused heavily on Spanish-speaking markets in the past but has since branched out further. Their website states that by now they have 100 properties:

“Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is a leading hotel chain that is committed to developing a responsible tourism model, focused on caring for both people and the environment. It has more than 100 four- and five-star located in the most popular vacation destinations in Europe, Africa and America. As part of the Iberostar hotel portfolio, guests can enjoy beachfront hotels, city hotels and heritage hotels. In addition, there is the Grand category, the highest level of luxury and excellence. Enjoy an all-inclusive holiday with your family, partner or friends at hotels in , Tenerife, on the Costa del Sol, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica or Brazil. Experience the essence of the city at one of our hotels in Madrid, Barcelona or Lima. Alternatively, immerse yourself in the history and tradition of destinations like Montenegro.”

IHG points are generally valued at around 0.8 USD cents per point (Nerdwallet). That means that effectively you get a 40,000 points x 0.8 cents/point = 320 USD discount for a 4-night stay. Not a bad discount, especially if you can manage to redeem the points for even higher CPPs at luxury properties of the IHG chain.

From looking through the terms & conditions, it seems that all Iberostar properties are included in the promotion. But please read through it carefully to be sure.
